Anointing essay

The Anointing
What is the anointing? Where does the anointing come from? Who is anointed?
The Hebrew word for anoint is Masah which means to paint with colors; to set apart for service; to rub. The Greek word for anointing is Chario to smear or rub with oil’ to consecrate. Other words for anointing are Chrisma which means unction, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit’s presence and power. Chraomai- to handle, to employ, to act towards, to furnish what is needed.
What is the anointing? The simplest answer is the one given in class. The ANOINTING is the unction (empowerment) given to the believer by the
HOLY ONE (Jesus) through the ministry of the HOLY SPIRIT to SET the believer
apart so they can HANDLE and EMPLOY God's POWER to make available
whatever is needful to fulfill God's PURPOSES when it is RELEASED by FAITH to the believer.
The anointing of God is felt in His presence, through His word, in service, IN HIM. His anointing brings life, health and healing.
Who is anointed? US His children those that truly believe in Him. He anoints His children to preach His word, heal the sick,
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Isaiah 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
The anointing brings joy, beauty, praise. The anointing brings deliverance and freedom.
Where does it come from? The father through the Holy Spirit. “ the Lord hath anointed me”.
He anoints us to serve Him completely, unreservedly. Through every aspect of our lives and being. He anoints us for HIMSELF.
