Identify with another

Identify with another
What does it mean to identify yourself with another? What does it mean to become identical with another? I shall attempt to take a look at these two questions and answer them.

Merriam Webster says to identify means: transitive verb 1 a : to cause to be or become identical b : to conceive as united (as in spirit, outlook, or principle) , intransitive verb 1 : to be or become the same.

To cause to be or become identical. What does it mean to be identical? 1 : being the same :
2 : having such close resemblance as to be essentially the same.

When two things are identical they are essentially the same. There is no to little difference.

Jesus was made identical to us and we with Him at the cross. He was made identical so we could inherit salvation through Him. It is through that act that allows us to call His Father our Father. It is through that act that allows us to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Where once sin had separated us (as a result of Jesus being made identical to us at the cross) we can now go before the throne of grace. As a result of Jesus being made identical to us we are the children of God the Father joint heirs of the Kingdom of Heaven with Him.

It is that identity of Jesus that gives us the right to the things of God. Such as salvation, healing, life, everything that is in the Father’s hand because of us being identical to Christ (through the work that was done at Calvary) we can accept everything that He has everything that He longs to give us.

We was made identical to Christ through the glorious work of the cross. And it that reason we can call God the Father our Heavenly Father.
